A before & after - Mermaid Painting
So in 2011 i posted this mermaid painting, painted by yours truly. I remember sitting on my then bedroom floor sketching her out and then starting to add color and texture to her. At the time I was 26 years old, single with no kids and just painted for fun and as a creative outlet after my job (which was working as a graphic designer for the pharmaceutical industry).
When ever I looked at "her", my mermaid I always felt that she was unfinished and needed more. But life got in the way and Mermaid was put in to storage! I had never forgotten about her but did not feel like she was ready to be hung in any of my homes as I moved from home to home during the course of 13 years. But in the back of my mind I always heard this nagging voice for leaving her unfinished.
So in 2024 I finally pulled her out! Put her on my kitchen counter and started working on her when ever I found a little time. My life has changed completely since the day I was sitting on my bedroom floor at my parents home! Now I am married living in my own home wich my husband and I built with the help of our families, I am a mother of a 9 year old boy, a 2 year old girl and our 3 dogs!
Life is in full blown mode and painting time is both limited and so precious but I did it! I finally finished My Mermaid painting and she now lives with pride in my bedroom.

Home Art
Art is not just something you will add to that empty space on the wall... Its the piece that will set a tone of a room. It will fill you with a feeling and speak to you. Some believe that Art has no function but it can make you stop and stare. It can whisper or shout. It can even evoke feelings that you were not aware were there before you stooped to look.

DIY Pallet Chair
For my fathers 63rd birthday i wanted to get him something special and since he is quite difficult to buy for, because he is a strong believer of not spending money; I decided that it would be a good idea to give him a hand made gift.
My idea was to make him a piece of furniture like an arm chair so he can use when he is outdoors or even at home.

My University Typography Professor
Demetris Kokkinolampos used to explain in our classes that thinking to hard
about an idea we have will accumulate stress, creating road blocks.
The best way to get your idea out
there is to actually do it! Sketch it, get it on paper, print it, draw it, go,
see, do! Once the idea is in front of you, it stops being an idea and becomes reality!
This is the best time to decide
if you should continue, change or reject! Don’t be afraid to criticize your own
work and admit that it’s time to move on… No, it’s not a waste of time to have
gone through with the first idea even if it was not the wright one. The first
ideas becoming reality is probably what will lead you to the next step.
We
learn from our process the same way we learn from our mistakes!
