10 Ways to Rehydrate

Summer was great and so very hot. We enjoyed soaking up the sun, a few cocktails and a few iced lattes! But now its time to give back to our system all the hydration it needs and this is the perfect season to do so before the cold sets in.

1. The first step is the obvious one! Drink more water... Set your water goals for the day and make sure to reach them. 8 glasses of water a day should be enough to give the message to your body that your intake of water is enough so that it does not need to hold on or retain water.

2. Get Your Citrus on! If there is a secret for long living, to reduce aging and keep healthy... the answer is citrus fruits. Have an orange for breakfast and get your energy and vitamin C you need for the day. Vitamin C will make sure you are not vulnerable to getting sick as it keeps your immune system strong!

Low and No Impact Workout

In a nutshell... Since my belly started growing about 2 years ago i have been physically and emotionally attached to my little bundle of joy, who is not so little anymore. My son is almost 16 months old now and i finally feel like its time to gain back some of my independence and strength.

First thing is first, i should probably focus on getting back in to shape. Even though i lost all the pregnancy weight i have noticed that my muscles are week and are in need of exercise. I don't feel like i can jump in to anything drastic because of the strain my knees and other joints have been though with holding the weight of the baby everyday. So i am looking for something Low to No impact. Here are a series of no-low impact workout moves.

Foods to Avoid during pregnancy - Keeping Sane and Healthy

I am in my 4th week of pregnancy and i am starting to get nervous...
Unfortunately i have been hearing a lot of cases where woman have lost their babies at this early stage and i can't help it from not affecting me.

I have had nightmares about bleeding and every little pain or cramp gets me very worked up.

I just want my first doctors appointment that is booked for the 16th of March to come fast. It was a mission to book an appointment with the doctor who i would like to be going to throughout the pregnancy. And the 16th was the earliest they could convenience me. Estimated that by then i will be entering my 6th week of pregnancy.

Writing in this blog actually helps me keep sane... As i have not told friends and broad family yet about my pregnancy writing makes me feel like there is someone to talk to.

Throughout the day i try to think of only the positive side of things and eat healthy. I have been avoiding picking up weights and have changed my morning coffee from regular to decaf.

I have not yet seen any difference in weight and actually my food portions are a little less than what they were a month ago. Not that i am trying to eat less, but i have been feeling that smaller portions more frequently feels more comfortable and leaves me feeling less bloated.

Here are some FOODS that you should AVOID when pregnant:

Medical conditions due to excessive heat exposure that should be avoided and treated urgently

Dear readers,
We have all been looking forward to the summer and its finally here! :)

I live in Nicosia, the capital Cyprus where the weather can reach up to 45°C; and even though i love the heat, such high temperatures are not to be disregarded.

Here is a reminder to do all of those things that we hear every summer... Drink loads of water, apply sunscreen and then apply again! Protect your eyes with shades, wear a hat, wear clothes that will protect from the sun....

My Isotroin Experience (Accutane or Isotretinoin)

My Isotroin Experience (Accutane or Isotretinoin)

Last October 2011 I had my first doctor’s appointment to get my acne looked at.  At 26 years this was the first time I have had problems with my skin. During my teen years when all my friends were naturally going through breakouts, my skin never gave me any problems besides the one or two spots during the month. Now all of a sudden I was suffering from constant breakouts, persistent spots that would last for months and the fact that my face was always saw to the touch was really tiring me out.

For months before I tried Over The Counter skin care products and when that did not work I tried antibiotics which did not have any noticeable results. This was when I decided to see a dermatologist and find the reason for this 'all of a sudden' change.
